While the initial results are usually light, you can easily create a deeper tan by layering multiple applications. There wasn't a blade of grass or the touch of human hands to be seen as empty ruins stretched for perhaps a mile on both sides of the road. It's a magnificient sight as the desert yields to the mountains of the north toward Galilee, and falls off to the south with the earth plunging downward to the Dead Sea.
